Unforgettable 9
links golf in nine holes.
From Baltic calm to Atlantic drama, this first LINKS 9 selection
celebrates courses shaped by wind, sand and local character —
places where a shorter round leaves a lasting impression.

Visby Golfklubb
At Kronholmen on Gotland, Visby’s full-length nine-hole course
brings the Baltic close to every decision. Open terrain, sea
air and beautifully framed views create a calm setting with
genuine strategic bite. Designed by Pierre Fulke and Adam
Mednickson, it is welcoming to newer golfers yet sufficiently
exacting for experienced players.

Trevose Golf Club
Trevose’s Short Course distils the spirit of Cornwall into a
relaxed nine-hole round. Subtle slopes, clever bunkering and
coastal winds reward imagination rather than power. With no
tee booking required, it suits families, beginners and
time-conscious golfers — while still offering seasoned players
an engaging short-game test beside the Atlantic.
Three compact courses where the coastline is never simply
a backdrop.

Anstruther Golf Club
Anstruther’s compact East Neuk layout is defined by character,
cliffs and one unforgettable challenge. The fifth, The Rockies,
is a fearsome par three played beside the Firth of Forth, with
rock, gorse and shifting slopes surrounding a partly hidden
green. It is the kind of hole that gives a nine-hole course a
legendary identity.

Golf Club d’Oléron
On Oléron Island, the Atlantic becomes part of the playing
experience. Four holes run beside the sea, with views towards
Fort Boyard, while dune vegetation, water hazards and maritime
winds constantly reshape the challenge. Flat and walkable,
this rare French links feels natural, open and inseparable
from the island surrounding it.

Cruit Island Golf Club
Reaching Cruit Island in County Donegal already feels like an
expedition. What follows is a raw natural links set above
rocky Atlantic inlets, with views towards offshore islands and
Mount Errigal. The routing is short, dramatic and intensely
memorable, asking golfers to trust the wind, embrace uneven
ground and play with imagination.

History and personal vision give these final two courses
their unmistakable character.

Real Golf Club de Zarauz
Opened in 1916, Zarauz is one of Spain’s historic golfing
addresses and a rare links laid directly across the beach
dunes. The Cantabrian Sea provides both the scenery and the
principal defence, while the town sits close around the
course. It is sporting heritage, local culture and everyday
urban life sharing the same strip of sand.

Covesea Links
Hidden at the end of a winding road on the Moray coast,
Covesea unfolds inside its own sheltered cove. The course
follows the natural contours through low dunes and climbs to
wider sea views on the later holes. Modest in length but rich
in personality, it captures the independent, handcrafted
spirit of nine-hole golf.
Nine holes. A complete experience.
The strongest nine-hole courses do not feel reduced. They feel
concentrated: more landscape, more identity and more reasons to
remember the round.
